Kit components:Alphanaphtol solution 30ml, Formalin/ethanol solution 125ml, Mayer Haematoxylin 125ml, Hydrogen Peroxide 10ml, Pyronin (0.2% in aqueous solution) 125ml.
Staining priniciple: Peroxidase granulations form an insoluble bright red compound with pyronin in the presence of alphanaphtol and hydrogen peroxide. The nuclei of leukocytes stain blue with Mayer Haematoxylin.

Staining priniciple: In an acid environment, ferric ions react with potassium ferrocyanide that leads to a precipitate called ferric ferrocyanide, or Prussian Blue, which indicates the presence of a pathological pigment: Haemosiderin.

Kit components: Sudan Black in alcohol solution 1x100ml, buffer solution 1x100ml.
Staining principles: Sudan Black is insoluble in aqueous media, but soluble in lipidic and alcoholic media. In a buffered, phoshate medium and in the presence of alcohol, sudanophilic granules catch the stain and appear dark blue. Cytoplasm and the remaining cells remain colourless.
