A Robertson Cooked Meat Broth for the isolation and cultivation of anaerobic and aerobic organisms.

pH: 7.3 ± 0.2

Directions:

Use the calibrated scoop to distribute 1.2g amounts of granules into 25ml tubes or bottles. Add 20ml deionised water. Sterilise at 121șC for 10 minutes. Use proportionately more granules and water if greater depths of medium are required. Allow to cool before use.

Appearance: Granules covered in slightly opalescent pale yellow liquid.

Inoculation: Samples or swabs directly into the medium.

Incubation: 37șC for mesophiles, appropriate temperature

for thermophiles.

Interpretation: Reddening of meat - saccharolytic organism - Blackening and digestion proteolytic organism.
